27th Eagles Festival: Review of the Best Polish Films in Warsaw

Warsaw was buzzing with life for less than a month thanks to the 27th Eagles Festival, which took place at the legendary Iluzjon Cinema. Between January 10 and February 8, 2025, viewers had a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in Polish cinema at its best. The festival offered meetings with creators, giving the chance to learn about the making of nearly 70 films that met the critical requirements of the Eagles Regulations.

Both acclaimed productions such as *"Under the Volcano"* and *"The Woman with..."* appeared on the screens, as well as promising debuts. Wojciech Jerzy Has, an excellent Polish director, was honored with a ceremonial screening of his film *"How to Be Loved"*, on the occasion of the hundredth anniversary of his birth.

The event was supported by the National Film Archive – Audiovisual Institute and the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage, creating an extraordinary atmosphere that attracted not only cinema fans, but also those who want to get closer to the magic of filmmaking and their creators.

Although the festival ended in February, its echoes can still be heard, especially after the announcement of the nominations for the Polish Film Awards on February 12, as well as during the gala that took place on March 10. It was a real feast for all film lovers, and Warsaw is already waiting for the next edition of this film festival.
